The WJCC Board Appreciates Your Help!

Organizing the Campus:

We are moving into the next phase of settling the Campus. We are clearing out common spaces in the Social Hall, Stage and Lower Level that will be used for storage and meeting. We need help arranging files and items that will be put into storage; processing through old items to flag for give-away, auction, or trash; and positioning shelving, filing cabinets and furniture in the appropriate locations throughout the building. We are looking for volunteers from both congregations to help with this organization process. In the coming weeks, we are planning two dates to continue organizing the facility:

  • Sunday June 13 – 2pm to 5pm

  • Sunday June 27 – 2pm to 5pm

If you are able to volunteer on one or both of these dates, please contact Daniel Solomon ( or Ellen Beren ( and let us know.

There is plenty of work to be done and we can use your help regardless of your size or how much weight you can lift! We want to take all the help we can get but we will be mindful of the number of people at each date to maintain social distancing while working. So, we kindly ask that you be sure to contact Dan or Ellen before showing up.


We want to provide another reminder that the main parking lot is on the east side of the campus. We previously noted that the parking spaces nearest the front door are reserved for disabled parking, staff parking and short-term visitors. Also, according to the WJCC Memorandum of Understanding (the MOU), except for disabled parking, there is not to be parking in front of the building on Shabbat. In addition, to keep the fire lane open and avoid congestion behind the building there should not be any parking by the kitchen entrance. Please note that staff parking is for both Rabbis and the congregation administrators. We will be adding more signage at the front of the building that designate spaces to accommodate the needs of both congregations, the Jewish Community School, and eventually the Mid-Kansas Jewish Federation. Unless you have a specific need to park in front of the building, we kindly ask that anyone visiting the campus for services, meetings or working in either kitchen would park in the main lot. This is particularly important as the building use is ramping up such that there are regularly multiple events scheduled to take place at the same time on the campus.
